Welcome

Aysgarth is situated in Wensleydale in the North Yorkshire Dales, and is well known for its waterfalls.

The falls are famous as they were used in the film Robin Hood Prince of Thieves.

The Mill Race Teashop is situated in Yore Mill which on the bridge overlooking the upper falls.

Yore Mill was originally built in 1784 by the Birkbeck Family but was rebuilt in 1852 after the mill was destroyed by fire. In its life time it has been a cotton, woolen and corn mill.

The Mill Race teashop is housed in the part of the mill overlooking the river, We (Martin and Sue Sampson) took over the teashop in August of 2005. Before buying the teashop we had both worked in the hotel business, Martin as a hotel manager in Cumbria and Sue as a chef working in Paris, Dublin and Chicago as well as in this country.
